Five exciting youth dance companies take a fresh look at an important issue.
Using the theme of stigma against people living with HIV as a start point Ctrl.Alt.Shift brings together four leading UK dance groups to perform alongside a dance group from Africa to explore issues around HIV/AIDS at the Peacock.
Featuring OYO from Namibia in Africa, Boy Blue and East London Dance from London, Bennu Youth Dance from Leeds and Fuzzy Logic from Southampton the show will feature films alongside the performances to give the audience an insight into the journey each group took to create their work. Music for the show has been supplied by some of the top names in the music industry including Mike Skinner, Mystery Jets, Goldilocks and Boy Better Know.
The show is the culmination of a project that will see two London based dancers make a trip to Africa to work with OYO youth dance. OYO (Ombetja Yehinga Organisation) have for many years used the creative arts to educate Namibian's about avoiding HIV infection.
This event is part of Ctrl.Alt.Shift that aims to create a global community of outspoken young radicals from all over the world, people who are working together to fight against global poverty and social injustice.
Please note this event may reference adult themes.
