The story of Cymbeline contains more twists and turns than a record-breaking collection of helter-skelters. King Cymbeline has two young princes snatched from his grasp as babies, in a revenge attack. Twenty years on, his daughter ignores Cymbeline’s wishes and marries the commoner Posthumus, who is subsequently banished to Rome. Everyone is confused about what may or may not be happening to everyone else, and fate, wicked as he often is, starts springing a few surprises.
Rachel Kavanaugh returns to Regent’s Park to direct her tenth production at the Open Air Theatre.
