Experience the Middle Ages brought to the present through dance and song by four extraordinary performers in d’avant.

When Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and Damien Jalet met Luc Dunberry and Juan Kruz Diaz de Garaio Esnaola from the dance ensemble Sasha Waltz & Guests for the first time, they discovered a shared passion for medieval music.

The four dancers recognised in each other’s works a common thread: the natural voice and how it flows over into movement and becomes theatrical. In d’avant they become a medieval contemporary boyband. In a set that might be a construction (or deconstruction) site they fight, relate, approach, question, love and hate each other in all possible ways.
