Two Royal Ballet premieres and one world premiere in one evening of dance.
Balanchine’s Apollo is a piece in which the choreographer takes classical ballet in new, witty and modern directions. His Themes And Variations, making its Royal Ballet debut, looks backwards towards Balanchine’s Russian heritage.
The work of Alastair Marriott also mixes a classical basis with an individual touch, giving a suggestion to the influence of Balanchine on his work.
