English National Ballet presents Léo Delibes comic ballet about an eccentric toymaker and his mechanical doll for young audiences.
Adapted for children aged three and older, My First Ballet: Coppélia tells the story of Dr Coppélius who wants nothing more than to bring his new creation to life. He believes that his dream has finally come true, but soon comes to realise that he has merely been caught up in a lovers’ tiff.
Featuring Delibes’ melodic score and choreographed by George Williamson, the comedy of mistaken identity follows in the footsteps of Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty, which have previously been brought to life by second year students of the English National Ballet School for the My First Ballet series.
