Downton Abbey’s Julian Ovenden leads the cast of My Night With Reg, which transfers to the West End following its run at the Donmar Warehouse.

Ovendon is joined by fellow original cast members Matt Bardock, Jonathan Broadbent, Richard Cant, Lewis Reeves and Geoffrey Streatfeild in Kevin Elyot’s seminal play about a group of six friends for whom the world is about to change forever.

Set in London’s gay community during the 80s against the backdrop of the growing AIDS crisis, My Night With Reg became an instant classic when it was first staged at the Royal Court in 1994.

Deliciously funny and bittersweet, Kevin Elyot’s comedy captures the fragility of friendship, happiness and life itself.

Directed by Robert Hastie, the production’s West End run marks Donmar Warehouse Artistic Director Josie Rourke’s second transfer following the run of Olivier Award nominated hit The Weir at the Wyndham’s Theatre.
