My Perfect Mind is based on the experiences of acclaimed actor Edward Petherbridge, who suffered a stroke that left him barely able to move while rehearsing King Lear. In just one day he had gone from performing one of Shakespeare’s greatest roles to not being able to control his fingers. As he attempted to recover, he discovered that despite his huge change he could still remember the role o Lear word for word.

The show that has grown out of his experiences blurs the events from this life-changing chapter in Petherbridge’s life with moments from King Lear in a moving and comic exploration of the resilience of the human spirit.
