English National Opera transforms Oliver Jeffers’ children’s book The Way Back Home into an opera for children aged five to eight-year-olds.

Featuring puppetry and animations that promise to capture the charm of Jeffers’ illustrations, the cosmic tale of a young boy who is befriended by a moon-dwelling Martian marks ENO’s first opera for children.

The show is directed by Katie Mitchell, whose previous family productions include the Beauty And The Beast, Dr Seuss’ The Cat In The Hat and Hansel And Gretel at the National Theatre.
