Additional casting announced for Tina Turner musical

By Carly-Ann Clements Published 5 March 2018

The world is so ready for Tina – The Tina Turner Musical, and thankfully, we don’t have much longer to wait until it opens at West End’s Aldwych Theatre.

But while we eagerly count down the days, any news of the highly-anticipated show is great news. Particularly when additional casting is announced.

Nine actors will be joining the cast as the younger characters in the show.

Reya-Nyomi Brown, Claudia Elie and Serena Mukuna will play the role of Young Anna Mae. Athea Andi, Nicole Dube, Arianna Duffus will play the role of Young Alline. And Rohan Beckford, Caelan Edie, and Khylan St Paul Mark will play the role of Young Craig.

They will be starring alongside Broadway star Adrienne Warren (playing the title character and legend, Tina), Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, and Madeline Appiah.

The casting of Young Tina is yet to be announced. The show hosted open auditions for the role earlier this year, so we’re expecting to see some spectacular fresh talent when the show opens next month.

The show depicts the life of the songstress and icon – from her humble beginnings to ground-breaking superstar, all to a soundtrack of Tina Turner’s top hits.

Making its official world premiere on 17 April, with previews starting on 21 March 2018, it’s one of the most highly-anticipated shows of 2018. So, what’s love got to do with it? Quite a lot, actually.
