Hampton revived as Betwixt! extends

Christopher Hampton’s When Did You Last See My Mother? is to be revived at the Trafalgar Studios this autumn, following the extended run of musical Betwixt!

Set in 1965, When Did You Last See My Mother? follows the lonely, broke and lovelorn Ian who is about to give up on a London where everyone apart from him is having fun when he receives a visit from his carefree flatmate’s mother. Charismatic and reckless, she pulls the boys into calamitous territory.

Harry Melling returns to the London stage to play Ian. Though his recent Theatreland outings include The School For Scandal at the Barbican and Women Beware Women at the National Theatre, he is best known for playing Dudley in the Harry Potter films.

Directed by Blanche McIntyre, When Did You Last See My Mother? runs at the Trafalgar Studio 2 from 14 September until 8 October.

Musical Betwixt!, which had been due to run until 20 August, has extended its run at the Whitehall venue until 10 September. The tuneful tale of a struggling writer who finds himself in a fantasy tale opened last week, when it was described by Official London Theatre as “two hours of knockabout silliness”.
