In rehearsal: The Collector

First Published 21 July 2016, Last Updated 21 July 2016

We all have our own personal collections of assorted paraphernalia, bits and bobs, (coins, stamps, musical posters, cars, bird sightings or, in our case, Pokémon), and we all know that there’s nothing quite like the thrill of finding that rare item to complete a set; Pikachu, where ARE you?!

But when this desire to collect boils over into the realms of your fellow human beings, you know the perpetrator might be in possession of a loose screw or two. Introducing Mark Healy’s thrilling adaptation of John Fowles’ chilling novel The Collector, the story of a reclusive butterfly collector who covets a beautiful art student, and begins to prepare the house for her surely inevitable arrival…

Starring Daniel Portman (of Game Of Thrones fame) and Lily Loveless (former star of television’s Skins), the production plays at the darkly intimate venue of The Vaults from 2 August, and promises a tense, taut, psychological thriller. Judging from our in-the-making snapshots, the duo seem to be having a better time in the rehearsal room than their respective characters almost certainly will in the events of the show.

Check the pictures out above, and get booking your tickets for a excitingly ominous production not to be missed.
