As the world celebrates the 200th anniversary of Charles Dickens’s birthday, a new musical version of A Tale Of Two Cities is to open at London’s Charing Cross theatre.
The story of one man’s ultimate sacrifice for love in both revolutionary Paris and 18th century London, will play at the off-West End venue from 5 April until 12 May.
The Victorian tale will be directed by Paul Nicholas who, though he has produced hit shows including Grease, Saturday Night Fever ad Ain’t Misbehavin, is still best known as a performer having appeared in stage productions including Jesus Christ Superstar, Grease and Cats.
Casting information is yet to be announced for the production, which features music by David Pomeranz, lyrics by Steven David Horwich and a book by Horwich and David Soames.
