Full casting was also announced today for Cyrano de Bergerac at the Playhouse Theatre. As previously announced, James McAvoy will star as the Cyrano himself in the inaugural production of the Playhouse’s new season.

Michele Austin (The Hunt, Medea), Adam Best (The Duchess Of Malfi, Medicine), Sam Black in his professional stage debut, Nari Blair-Mangat (Colour Is Too Sweet), Philip Cairns (Peter Gynt, Pressure), Tom Edden (Our Town, Pinter Three), Eben Figueiredo (Young Marx, Primetime), Chris Fung (Evita, The Lehman Trilogy), Adrian Der Gregorian (Made In Dagenham), Carla Harrison-Hodge (Amadeus, Hillside), Seun Shote (The Princess And The Hustler), Kiruna Stamell (The Government Inspector), Nima Taleghani (Macbeth, Armadillo), and Anita-Joy Uwajeh (Two Trains Running) with Vaneeka Dadhria, Mika Johnson and Brinsley Terence.

A new production was announced today from the Olivier award-nominated producers of La Bohème, David Eaton and Adam Spreadbury-Maher. Opera Undone: Tosca & La Bohème is a double-bill of brand-new English productions of Puccini that will run at Trafalgar Studios 2 from 5 February to 7 March next year.

Opera Undone is a new strand of the King’s Head Theatre’s opera programme, where famous operas are re-imagined into a 60 minute show entirely in English, to bring opera to younger generations and wider audiences.
