Midnight Tango makes West End return

Strictly Come Dancing’s Vincent Simone and Flavia Cacace will dance their way back to the West End next year when they return with the Olivier Award nominated show Midnight Tango.

Set in a late-night bar in downtown Buenos Aires, the choreography-crammed show, which brings to life the drama, sensuality and elegance of the tango, will play a strictly limited five-week season at the Phoenix theatre from 30 January (press night 4 February) followed by a national tour.

Described as “a spectacular and explosive evening”, Midnight Tango, which is directed by Olivier Award-winning choreographer Karen Bruce, brings together some of the finest tango dancers in the world and features choreography from the Strictly duo.

The Arlene Phillips and Adam Spiegel-produced show, which was nominated in the Best Entertainment And Family category at this year’s Olivier Awards alongside David Wood’s adaptation of children’s favourite The Tiger Who Came To Tea, will open at the Phoenix theatre following another of Wood’s adaptations Goodnight Mister Tom, which plays from 22 November to 26 January.
