The all-conquering Hamilton has swept awards ceremonies across the world – but can it stand up to the wit of Gerard Alessandrini, the hilarious brain behind Forbidden Broadway? The Menier Chocolate Factory audiences are finding out with Spamilton, The Hamilton Parody Musical.

Alessandrini returns to the Menier to lampoon the popular Lin-Manuel Miranda musical with a show that not only takes target at Broadway’s biggest export, but also a host of the theatre world’s biggest names and musicals. In the words of Miranda himself, “I laughed my brains out.”

And it certainly hasn’t thrown away its shot – having opened last month, the UK debut production of Spamilton has extended until 15 September due to popular demand. You can get a first look at it below (all photos credited to Johan Persson)…

Tickets to Spamilton can be booked through the Menier Chocolate Factory website.
