Tony Award-nominated director Phyllida Lloyd, whose credits include the forthcoming Tina – The Tina Turner Musical and Mamma Mia! in the West End, on Broadway and worldwide, has joined the line-up for the latest Tonic Celebrates, a series of events foregrounding the achievements of inspirational women in theatre.

With a focus on stars of musical theatre, the fifth Tonic Celebrates will take place at The Other Palace on Friday 24 November from 7.45pm. Phyllida joins Oliver Award-nominated actress Rosalie Craig and award-winning producer and casting director Danielle Tarento on the panel.

Each Tonic Celebrates event brings together a group of remarkable women, all of whom are leaders in their field, to discuss their careers, work, and successes. The first half of the evening is chaired by Tonic Theatre’s Director Lucy Kerbel, before the floor is opened to the audience for questions.

Phyllida’s other theatre credits include The Shakespeare Trilogy: The Tempest, Henry IV and Julius Caesar (Donmar Warehouse/St Anne’s Warehouse, New York) and the Tony-Award nominated Mary Stuart (Donmar Warehouse/Apollo Theatre/Broadway). She joins Rosalie, who will be the first to portray Bobbi, re-imagined as a woman for Marianne Elliot’s production of the classic Sondheim musical Company, and Danielle, who was listed as one of the top ten producers of Musical Theatre in 2016 in The Stage.

Tickets for the fifth Tonic Celebrates are available through The Other Palace box office.
