Stick Man returns for London Christmas

First Published 13 September 2013, Last Updated 13 September 2013

The stage adaptation of Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s much-loved children’s book Stick Man will return for another festive run at the Leicester Square theatre this year.

Playing from 16 November to 5 January, Scamp Theatre’s touching and funny family show about the loveable wooden adventurer who embarks on a journey into the world outside the family tree, where a dog wants to play fetch and a swan wants his help building a nest, features three performers and a one-man band portraying the story’s colourful characters.

Suitable for children aged three and older, the tale of an extraordinary woodland dweller who gets mistaken for just another twig takes audiences on a journey through the seasons before culminating in a joyous celebration of Christmas as Stick Man strives to find his way back to his woody abode.

Starring Richard Kiess, Alex Tosh and Cassie Vallance, Sally Cookson’s production is adapted from the book by the acclaimed duo behind literary children’s hits The Gruffalo and Room On The Broom.

Featuring a score by Benji Bower and designs by Katie Sykes, Stick Man will play at the Leicester Square theatre following a national tour.
