Tricycle Theatre hosts Impossible Acts

Published 27 October 2014

The Secret Theatre’s Company’s A Series Of Increasingly Impossible Acts will return to London next year, but to Kilburn’s Tricycle Theatre rather than its original home at the Lyric Hammersmith.

The devised piece, which features a new protagonist – chosen by the audience – put through an endurance test of a performance each night, will run at the Tricycle from 12 to 31 January following spells in Hammersmith, Edinburgh and on tour.

A Series Of Increasingly Impossible Acts follows the Christmas season of Complicite’s family tale Lionboy (17 December to 10 January), Mark Thomas’ comic story of being spied on by Britain’s biggest arms manufacturer Cuckooed (1 to 13 December), and current drama of desire, jealousy and voodoo, The House That Will Not Stand, which has proved so popular it has extended its run to 29 November.

Speaking about the season, Tricycle Theatre Artistic Director Indhu Rubasingham said: “I am very excited to have both the Lyric and Sean Holmes at the Tricycle. Sean has had a long relationship with the Tricycle and it is therefore great to have him back here. I am also very happy to be extending The House Will Not Stand. It is not only a beautiful play, but an extraordinary company of actors that more people will be given the opportunity to see.”
