First Published 2 September 2014, Last Updated 4 September 2014

Last month Kerry Ellis made her return to the hit musical Wicked more than five years since she had departed the production following critically acclaimed, much-loved performances in the role of the green-skinned Elphaba, both in the West End and on Broadway.

Fans now have just two months to catch the hugely popular musical theatre star defy gravity at the Apollo Victoria Theatre before her strictly limited engagement comes to a close on 25 October.

Excited to find out how Ellis has been finding greening up and donning that famous black pointed hat once more, we caught up with her in her dressing room at the show’s stunning Victoria home to discover how her experiences over the past five years have changed her performance and why this was the one role that she just couldn’t say no to reprising.
