There’s plenty that goes into preparing for an Olivier Award-nominated performance – just ask Long Day’s Journey Into Night‘s Lesley Manville.

The 2018 Olivier Award (and, lest we forget, recent Academy Award!) nominee took us round Wyndham’s Theatre‘s dressing room no. 9, and from sofas to champers, told us just why it’s the perfect spot for those pivotal pre-show preparations. Take a look.

Long Day’s Journey Into Night is Eugene O’Neill’s semi-autobiographical tale about the Tyrones – a family haunted by the past but unable to face the present.

Taking place over one day in August 1912, an older couple and their two sons are caught in a cycle of love and resentment. As the night draws in, the family indulge in their vices and the truth unfolds to reveal the ruined lives of each family member.

Official London Theatre is currently offering a no booking fee on all Sunday-Thursday performances of Long Day’s Journey Into Night from 15 March – 5 April 2018 (must book by 31 March).
