West End gets Bear Hunt

Aspiring young adventurers will be heading to the Lyric theatre later this year when We’re Going On A Bear Hunt comes to the venue for a limited summer run following a successful international tour.

Based on Michael Rosen and Helen Oxenbury’s much-loved picture book, the family show will play daytime performances at the Lyric theatre from 3 July to 1 September.

Combining music, laughter and rhymes with puppetry, paints, water, mud and, of course, a bear, We’re Going On A Bear Hunt takes audiences on an intrepid adventure – accompanied by a musical dog – through the swishy swashing grass, the splishy splashy river and the squelchy mud in search of the fearsome furry creature.

Directed by Sally Cookson with a catchy musical score by Benji Bower, the fun-filled theatrical outing will take over the Lyric theatre’s stage during the day, while, the well-known tunes of legendary superstar Michael Jackson will carry on delighting audiences as West End long-runner Thriller Live continues its run at the venue.
