Forgotten for decades inside a mental hospital, three women escape their present by remembering their past in RedCape Theatre’s The Idiot Colony.

In the asylum’s hair salon, to the strains of Rick Astley and Glenn Miller, they relive wartime affairs, illicit trysts and childhood secrets.

Winner of the at the Total Theatre Award  at the 2008 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, The Idiot Colony is inspired by true accounts of the treatment and incarceration of ‘moral defectives’ in 1940s England.

There will be a post-show discussion on Saturday 24 January chaired by the production’s director Andrew Dawson.
